This is a rare chance to take Responder I, Responder II, and Responder III!
Day 1:
Responder I trains the individual on trauma medicine tactics using the MARCH-E algorithm to treat arterial bleeding, gun shot wounds, sucking chest wounds, lacerations, and other common traumatic injuries.
Responder II then covers CPR/AED and builds increased familiarity with the MARCH-E algorithm though hands on application. The use of the following medical devices/items is addressed: application of a CAT tourniquet, use of an Emergency Trauma Dressing (ETD), application of chest seals, use of triangular bandages, use of the SWAT-T tourniquet, wound packing with compressed gauze, appropriate use of clotting agents, CPR bag mask valve, AED, and more.
Day 2:
Responder III then takes what was learned Day 1 and goes even deeper into Tactical Medical Care (TacMed). There is a greater focus on the Mindset of the immediate responder, the Methodology of care under fire, and the Medicine of bleeding control, shock prevention, and casualty evacuation. This is accomplished through not only class instruction but also simulated, force on force, and high stress scenarios. You will learn practical application of civilian interior defensive tactics when responding to an active shooter, victim injury assessment, alternative wound dressing techniques, how to physically evacuate casualties in a safe manner, and more.
This is a highly active and energized class; participants should not only have already taken Responder I or II but be able to move unassisted and be capable of lifting a reasonable amount of weight. This class is scenario driven and instructors may trigger physiological responses with the use of external stressors. It is highly recommended that long sleeves and pants be worn. YOU WILL GET MUDDY, WET, BLOODY, ETC THROUGH THE COURSE OF THIS CLASS. IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED YOU BRING A CHANGE OF CLOTHES AMD SHOES.
This is two 10-hour days of training back to back. Students will be responsible for their own meals and drinks. Cost of the class includes a Trainer Kit, which will be retained by the student, and a MARCH-E Algorithm reference.
